Need a dose of salty air, old-school charm, and fresh fish and chips by the sea? Just 30 minutes north of Brisbane, Redcliffe is your go-to for a laid-back day trip that feels like stepping back into the best parts of a vintage beach holiday. Think esplanade strolls, pelicans on lamp posts, breezy cafés, and one very famous Bee Gees tribute. Whether you’re here for a chill solo reset, a seaside catch-up, or a family day out, Redcliffe brings the vibes, no stress required.

Highlights

  • Redcliffe Jetty & Bee Gees Way

  • Breakfast by the water at The Rustic Olive or Yabbey Road

  • Redcliffe Jetty Markets (Sundays)

  • Settlement Cove Lagoon

  • Scarborough Beach stroll

  • Lunch at Tempest or Morgans Seafood

  • Sunset drinks at The Komo

Morning: Jetty Walks & Bee Gees Throwbacks

Start your Redcliffe adventure with a classic: the Redcliffe Jetty. It’s the heart of the peninsula and the perfect spot to catch the sea breeze and snap some pier-side photos. Keep an eye out for pelicans gliding overhead or sunning themselves on the light poles.

Right next to the jetty, wander down Bee Gees Way - a mini outdoor museum dedicated to Redcliffe’s most famous musical sons. There are life-size bronze statues, interactive displays, and music playing through the laneway. It’s sweet, nostalgic, and genuinely charming (even if you weren’t alive when Stayin’ Alive dropped).

Breakfast: Beachside Feeds & Big Brekkies

Post-stroll, time for coffee and carbs. You’ve got a few great options within walking distance:

  • The Rustic Olive - Italian café right on the esplanade, known for generous portions and friendly vibes.

  • Yabbey Road - A Beatles-themed spot serving hearty brekkies, burgers, and great coffee with retro tunes.

  • Pilpel Restaurant (weekends) - Mediterranean-inspired breakfast buffet with beach views—yes please.

If it’s Sunday, you’ve lucked out the Redcliffe Jetty Markets are on until midday. Think: local produce, handmade gifts, live music, and tasty market snacks. Great for a slow browse and a little treasure hunting.

Midday: Swim, Stroll or Just Chill

After breakfast (and maybe a cheeky donut or smoothie from the markets), walk off the feast along the coastal path heading toward Settlement Cove Lagoon - a free, saltwater swimming lagoon with lifeguards, shaded areas and a shallow kids' section. It’s the ultimate chill spot for a warm day. Bring your swimmers or just dip your toes.

Keep heading north and you’ll reach Scarborough Beach - a little quieter, lined with shady trees and perfect for a relaxed picnic, gelato, or fish and chips on the sand.

Optional detour: Head up to Reef Point Esplanade for some seriously pretty ocean views and breezy walking paths.

Lunch: Fresh Seafood by the Bay

By now, you’ve earned your seafood moment and Redcliffe doesn’t disappoint.

  • Morgans Seafood - A local institution with a fresh seafood market, takeaway fish and chips, and an oyster bar overlooking the marina.

  • Tempest Restaurant - More of a dine-in experience with waterfront views and seafood straight from the boats. They even do Teppanyaki if you’re feeling fancy.

  • Seafood Town - Classic fish ‘n’ chip shop energy, big portions, plastic forks and unbeatable seaside flavour.

Afternoon: Scenic Wanders or Sweet Treats

Walk it off with a peaceful stroll along the Scarborough Marina, where sailboats bob lazily and sea breezes do all the work.

If you’re after a little sugar hit before the drive home:

Sunset: Drinks with a View

Golden hour on the Redcliffe Peninsula is chef’s kiss. Finish your day with a drink at one of the local waterfront bars:

  • The Komo – Balinese-inspired décor, sprawling beer garden, cocktails and killer sunset views

  • Scarborough Harbour Brewing Co. – For local craft beer lovers, with chilled warehouse vibes and marina views

Redcliffe is that rare combo of old-school charm and modern coastal chill. Whether you came for a beach walk, a seafood feast, or a stroll down Bee Gees memory lane, this seaside gem delivers low-key magic from sunrise to sunset. It’s the kind of day out that makes you forget your inbox exists and leaves you planning your next visit before you even get home.
